Abstract: The powdery mildew parasitic on Lagerstroemia was identified as "Uncinula australiana McAlp." in China and in other countries previously. The authors have discovered, however, that there are two types of appendages growing on the same perithecium of this fungus. The long appendages are of the Uncinula type, while the short ones are sickle-shaped. This species is quite different from the species of Uncinula in that it possesses more than one type of appendages, a characteristic analogous to that found on the already reported Uncinuliella spp. on Rosaceae. Therefore, this species is transferrcd to Uncinuliella and becomes a new combination: Uncinuliella australiana (McAlp. ) Zheng et Chen comb. nov.

摘要： 三年前，我们(郑儒永、陈桂清，1979)为Uncinula simulans Salm．一种成立了新属 Uncinuliella Zheng，et Chen。除新组合Uncinuliella. simulans(Salm)Zheng。ct Chen var.simulans外，同时还报道了它的一个新变种Uncinuliella simulans(Salm.)Zheng et Chenn var.rosae－rubi Zheng et Chen和另外一个新种 Uncinucliella rosae Zheng et Chen.上述新组合和新种均产于日本，只有新变种产于我国。三者的寄主都属蔷薇科。
