Abstract: The genus Ceratostigma is closely related and in evolution paralleled to Dyerophytum. All of the three species Dyerophytum spread in differential parts of the Gondwana Land (E. Africa, S. Africa, Sokotra Islands and India). The genus Ceratostigma is discontinuly distributed in tropical E.Africa, E. Asia (from E.Himalaya in Xizang to N. and E. China, south into Thailand) with S. Xizang as the present distribution center. Probably both genera in origin and certainly evolved near the Tethys during the early Tertiary: Dyerophytum is restricted on the southern side of the Tethys, Ceratostigma has the origin centering in the region from Arabia to S. Xizang. Presence of Ceratostigma in E. AfricH indicate that the species were come from Asia before the break of Red Sea.

摘要： 兰雪科Plumbaginaceae包括19属约775种，其中除Aegialitis R．Br．2种（现有人分作一个独立的科Aegialitidaceae Lincz．）分布于热带亚洲，马来西亚东部和澳大利亚，Ameria (DC）Willd（80种）分布于北温带和南美安第斯山脉至火地岛外，绝大部分的属都主产地中海沿岸和中亚地区，就科的分布区范围而言，兰雪科地跨各大洲，具有相当古老的分布区类型，而以地中海沿岸和古地中海区为分布中 心。
